Stormin' Gorman Thomas is one of baseball's most exciting performers. He is a premier home run slugger and a gifted defensive outfielder with excellent speed and a fine arm. Originally signed by the Brewers in 1969 when they were the Seattle Pilots, he spent six seasons in the minors and was even briefly traded away to Texas before making the majors. It was a spectacular season at Spokane in 1977 in which he hit .322 with 36 homers and 114 RBI that earned him a shot with the Brewers.
Johnny has established himself as one of the Brewers' key regulars, he led team in Homers for 2nd successive season. He hit 2 Homers in a game twice in 1971, accounted for 5 RBI's in game at Boston, July 17.
Tyler was promoted early in 2024 after a red-hot stretch in Triple-A. He was MLB Pipeline's No. 42 overall prospect. Tyler's father, Canadian sportscaster Rod Black, called play-by-play for his son's second big-league hit. "And there's a base hit to right field from my boy. Tyler Black," dad said.
