Name that player!

The powerfully built youngster had his finest season in the majors last year. Mike had a .288 batting average and 16 homers which placed him second on the Redbirds team only to Orlando Cepeda. Although a fine outfielder, Mike will handle the hot corner in '67.

After a 2-2 record in '52 "Kitten" proved to be one of the N.L.'s top hurlers in '53 when he led in Shutouts (6), twirled a pair of 2-hitters and ranked 4th in ERA. Harv spent 3 years with Columbus winning 11 in '48 and 13 in '49. In '50 he topped the American Assn. with 18 victories and spent the '51 season in the Service.

Manager Ray Blades, pointing the St. Louis Cardinals toward a pennant, has high hopes for left-hander "Tom" Sunkel. Sunkel, who came to the Cards last year from Atlanta where he won 21 and lost only 5, did not see much action with the Cards but showed enough to earn a crack at a regular berth. He won 4 and lost 4 last year, including among his triumphs a nifty two-hit shutout over the New York Giants. Speed is one of the main factors in Sunkel's pitching - he topped the Southern Association in that department in 1938, and struck out 54 in the 85 innings he hurled last year.
