Name that player!

With a .303 batting average and .513 slugging percentage in the Minors last year, Washington earned a promotion to St. Louis in 2008 and ripped an RBI double on 4/2 for his first ML hit.

This receiver previously played in the Milwaukee organization before being obtained by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1964. Since arriving, Bob has been a valuable addition to the squad. An excellent defensive catcher, Bob is well-liked by the St. Louis pitching staff. Although relegated to second-string duties, Bob has produced many timely hits on behalf of the Cardinals' cause. The St. Louis club gave up Gary Kolb and Jim Coker to get this fine receiver. Bob was traded to Phillies, October 27, 1965.

The stunning deal that uprooted Nolan from Colorado paid all the anticipated dividends for the 2021 Cardinals. He produced a sixth straight non-shortened 30-HR/100-RBI season, and settled into third place for most fielding awards (nine) by a third baseman.
