Angels Card of the Day

Eli Grba
Eli worked as a starter and reliever for the Angels last year and was an important man on their staff. The fastballing righthander was originally in the Yankee chain and had a 1.80 E.R.A. in the International League in '60. Eli is a good hitting pitcher, too.

Name that player!

Eli has an overpowering fast ball and is a rough man to hit when his control is sharp.

In July, Janson had the lowest ERA in all the Minors. He has two breaking balls to pair with his 97-mph fastball that had a solid spin rate. His curveball is MLB average and he's worked tirelessly to improve his slider. Janson has expert control (2.8% MLB walk rate).

Rudy now ranks third on the all-time Angel Strikeout list behind Dean Chance and Andy Messersmith. He once had distinction of fanning 23 batters in American Legion game.
