The big, slugging first sacker was idle most of the '65 campaign because of knee injury. Orlando led NL in HRS & RBIs in '61.



Tom sent a sharp 109.3-mph RBI double down the left-field line in his first plate appearance with the Giants on 3/30/24. Murphy also recorded a walk in the fifth inning and later scored a run in the victory.



Cracked 2 Singles with RBI in pitching 3-hit Shutout, 8-9-82. Earned Victory at Los Angeles. 8-14-82.

Henry Thompson
Hank batted .289 in 1950. His 148 hits included 17 doubles, 6 triples and 20 homers. He drove in 91 runs. Set a new record for third basemen by taking part in 43 double plays. (The old mark was 41.) Appeared briefly in the majors with the Browns in 1947. With the Kansas City Monarchs, Negro American League, 1948. Brought up by Giants from their Jersey City farm during 1949 season.
