A top-notch defensive catcher, Sherm was traded to the White Sox by the Browns during the winter. He broke in with Baltimore in 1943 and in '45 led the International League with a .364 batting mark. The Indians gave him a trial in 1946, but he didn't make it. In 1947, the Yankees called him up and traded him to the Browns in 1949. 1950 was his best year at the plate with .280. In the winter he's a department store salesman.

One of the Chicago White Sox's good-looking rookie hurlers in '65, Bruce was used by Manager Al Lopez as a starter and as a reliever. The native of Maryland is one of baseball's rarities... he's a switch-hitting pitcher. Bruce's top thrill last season was his first major league shutout.

One of Terry's most impressive efforts of 1972 occurred in Cleveland, July 11th. He relieved Rich Gossage with one out in the 7th inning and hurled the final 2 2/3 innings of the game. He was credited with his 12th Save of the season, protecting Chisox' 4-3 victory which was credited to Gossage. Terry had his best curveball of the season that game, he allowed Tribe only one hit and fanned three in his short stint.

Eddie Robinson
At the plate, Ed ranked 3rd in Homers and Runs Batted in 1951. In fielding, though, he led all American League first basemen in double plays with 143 and in putouts. Although he started playing organized ball in 1939, Ed didn't make the majors until the end of 1946, when he came up with Cleveland. Traded to Washington in '49, he hit .294 and .295 the next year when he was sent to the White Sox. Ed served in World War II.
