Walt was sent to the Washington Senators shortly after the start of the 1952 season. With Washington he made 24 mound appearances, winning 9 and losing 8. Walt began in 1939 with Charlotte of the Piedmont League, and after appearing in 2 games for them, he went to Washington. He remained, except for three years in service, until traded to the Red Sox in June, 1949.

The hard-hitting refugee from the N.L. was traded to the Senators in October '65. John played school basketball.

The Dodgers swapped Wayne to the Senators in September of '52. He'd been with the Cubs since '49 before coming to the Brooks in July of '51. "Twig" had an impressive war record serving with the Marines at Saipan, Tinjay and Iwo Jima. He's been in pro ball since '48 and came up to the Majors after hitting .278 for Los Angeles in '49. In '50, as a Cub, he hit 10 HR's. 1951 was spent at St. Paul.
