Name that player!

The 1st baseman batted .357 in the 1966 World Series. Three times during his career, Boog has clouted 3 home runs in a game. Last year, he topped the Orioles with 22 homers.

Joe made a great comeback in 1954. He was suffering with a sore arm, which kept his 1953 record to 3 wins and 4 losses with the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1954, with a weak hitting team, Joe appeared in 33 games, winning 13 and losing 17. He pitched 221 innings, and gave up 184 hits. He walked 96 and struck out 103. His earned run average was 3.50. Began in baseball in 1941. The Philadelphia Athletics brought Joe up at the end of the 1942 season.

The Brownies acquired him in October 1952 from the Brooklyn Dodger organization in a deal re- ported to be in the vicinity of $150,000. He is tabbed as one of the future greats. He was in 154 games for the 1953 Brownies, hitting .219. Played prep ball at Indiana, Pa. and also for Indiana State (Penn.) Teachers College. While a sophomore at Indiana Teachers was invited by the Dodgers to attend a try-out camp, and wound up signing with the team.
