Name that player!

Tony turned 22 just before the 1968 season got underway and he is another reason why Oakland fans will be cheering one of the finest young pitching staffs in the major leagues. A tall, left-handed hurler, Tony was used primarily in relief last year. Operating as a fireman, he was credited with six saves, the second best mark on the staff. In Tony's rookie year in pro ball, he won 11 of 12 decisions. Not one to bother about the so-called "sophomore jinx," Tony compiled the lowest earned run average in the Midwest League in '65.

Dick was one of the flashiest rookies in the American League last season, sparkling in the field and at the plate. Coming to Kansas City after hitting .338 with Shreveport in 1960, Dick established a new Kansas City stolen base record of 37. He has a bright future ahead

This 19-year-old catcher made up his mind to play in the majors after serving as bat boy for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1959 through 1963. In his first season in the minors in 1964, Rene led the Midwest League in home runs and played in the circuit's All-Star game. The youth from L. A. was a star high school athlete as he played baseball, basketball and football.
