Expos Card of the Day

Cliff Floyd
A former Sporting News Minor League Player of the Year and two-time minor league leader in RBI, Floyd has the power to deliver the goods as a first baseman and the speed to roam the outfield. Touted by the 1996 Baseball Almanac as a "Willie McCovey-type player with speed," the Expos expect a lot out of the multi-threat star-inthe-making. A wrist injury curtailed Floyd for much of '95 so he should be itching to get back to form this season.

Name that player!

DID YOU KNOW? At 6'-10", he is the tallest player ever to play in the major leagues... Struck out 11 Cubs batters in getting first ML win in 1988... First Expos rookie pitcher ever to win first two starts... Went to Southern Cal on baseball/basketball scholarship but concentrated on baseball... Tossed perfect game in final start for Livermore (CA) high school.

The acquisition of Tim along with Ken Singleton and Mike Jorgensen proved to be a fine trade for Expos last season. Tim became Montreal's regular shortstop with his all-out hustle every minute of every game. He plays hard all the time, diving to make stops in field and hustling on the bases.
