Luke Sewell, with 18 years of major-league baseball behind him, has the longest record of activity among the big-league players. He was signed by Cleveland in 1921, who acquired him from Columbus. Luke spent 12 seasons with the Indians, and was traded by them to the Washington Senators in 1933 for Roy Spencer. In 1935, he was traded to the St. Louis Browns for Bump Hadley and then sold to the Chicago White Sox. In 1938 Luke Sewell was purchased by the Brooklyn Dodgers, but this year is back with the team with whom he started his major- league career. In 18 years of playing, Luke Sewell has played a total of 1608 games, getting 1389 hits for a life-time batting average of .259.



With Waterioo of the I.I.I. League in 1955, Johnny won the homer championship. He appeared as a pinch-hitter with the White Sox in the 1959 World Series. Johnny spends his spare time constructing things out of wood.



Led major league pitchers in total wins in 1950 with 23. Chalked up 170 strikeouts. Surpassed other AL pitchers in innings pitched (288) and in batsmen faced (1,095). Bob is also a good hitter. In 72 games last season he batted .272, and drove in 26 runs including 6 homers. Began career as combination pitcher-outfielder. Pitched only AL no-hitter, 1948, and led in shutouts with 10.

Early Wynn
Had best major-league season with 1950 Cleveland Indians. Won 18, and lost 8, in 32 games for a percentage of .692, third best in League. Recorded an E.R.A. of 3.20 - tops in the League for pitchers with 10 or more complete games to their credit. Early's first full season in the majors was 1942. He was traded by the Senators to the Indians after the 1948 campaign. Had an 11-7 record in 1949.
