Has caught more than 100 games for Indians in each of last seven seasons, a record unmatched by any active receiver. Is considered greatest of all at judging and catching foul flys. Has made only 63 errors in major league career which began in 1941. One of the most popular players in the game today.

After several shots at the big leagues via the Athletics' organization, Ken was drafted from Vancouver by the Tribe before the 1968 season began. Although most of last year was spent in the minors, Ken is thought of highly by Cleveland and '69 could be his year.



"Big Luke" was 1 Homer short of the American League crown although he didn't play a fall season for the Indians in '52. (He was optioned to Indianapolis for a short time in the middle of the season). Luke was hitting .363 in '49 at San Diego, his 1st year in organized ball when the Indians brought him up. He slammed 28 HR's and had 107 RBI's for the Tribe in '50 and hit 27 HR's and 103 RBI's in '51.



Once Tony proves he can handle major league pitching, he'll have a steady job with the Indians. The youngster led the Northern League and International League in fielding in 1960 and 1962. Martinez was optioned by Indians to Portland (P.C.L.) in April '64.

Won 16 and lost 11 in 1950. Earned run average, 3.43. Recognized as one of the all-time greats. Set a modern major league record by striking out 18 batters in one 9-inning game. Holds record of 348 strikeouts in a single season. Has led League in strikeouts 7 seasons, and in games won 5 seasons. Has 2 no-hitters. With Indians 12 seasons. Never with another team. In the Navy 3 years.
