Merrill Combs
After hitting .283 at San Diego in the last 50 games of the 1950 season, he was drafted by the Browns. Before the '51 season started, Merrill was traded to the Indians who used him as a pinch-hitter and utility shortstop. He had his first Big League trial with the Red Sox at the end of the '47 season, but was sent to Oakland for 1948. The Red Sox recalled him in '49 and traded him to the Senators in '50.

After leading the entire Majors in runs scored (134) in '06, Sizemore crossed home 118 times in '07 to finish fourth in the AL. He started last year with seven runs in his first three games.



Bill Davis: Bill looks like he's ready for the big leagues. He batted .311 and smacked 33 HRS at Portland in 1965. Tom Kelly: Tom was one of Portland's leading pitchers last year. The fire- balling righthander won 16 and posted a 2.38 ERA.



Walt, besides being capable in the outfield, can also play first base. He was sent to Jacksonville late in April.
