Every so often a person comes around with the power to transcend sports. Diggins-Smith is a perfect example, a star since her Notre Dame days, the guard is one of the most marketable athletes in the world, gracing the pages of multiple magazines and earning mentions in numerous rap songs.

In 2020, a pair of college teammates were selected with the top two picks for the fourth time in WNBA history. After Oregon's Sabrina Ionescu went No. 1 overall to New York, Sabally headed to Dallas as the second selection. The forward averaged 16.2 points and 6.9 rebounds during her final season with the Ducks.

When the Wings selected Ogunbowale in the first round of the 2019 WNBA draft, the DJ at the event switched the music to Lil Nas X's country smash Old Town Road. Bringing her Midwest flavor to Dallas, the guard will be looking to become a hit and bring joy to the Lone Star State faithful.
