The Lakers are the last NBA team to select a guard with the first overall pick of the NBA Draft (Johnson, 1979). In 1984-85, L.A. shot an NBA-record .545 from the field. SCORECARD. On January 9, 1972, the Milwaukee Bucks topped the Lakers 120-104, snapping L.A.'s 33-game winning streak, the longest ever in any major pro sport.
