Name that player!

Bryant won his second straight NBA scoring title in '06-07 thanks in part to his 10 amazing 50-point efforts, which rank as the second-most in one season in NBA history.

Elden, one of only seven players ever to improve his scoring average each of his first seven seasons, is also one of the NBA's best shot-blocking forwards. On Mar. 7, 1996, he was the recipient of Magic Johnson's 10,000th assist.

Why are scouts so confident Kobe can adapt to the NBA? Excellent grades; the experience of traveling Europe with a father (Joe "Jellybean" Bryant) who played 16 years of pro ball; and a scoring average of 30.7 PPG...to name three reasons. Washington's Tim Legler, who played with Bryant in a summer Icugue, offered this: "There were 10-12 NBA players in the gym, and it was difficult to tell the difference."

At beginning of 1947-48 season Lakers purchased his contract for $15.000 - biggest deal in history of pro basketball. During college days at Minnesota Don was twice an all-conference selection. A knee injury at end of last season forced him to miss most of the play-offs and World Pro tournament.
