Name that player!

Called upon time and time again to come off the bench, generate offense and play tough defense, Pat is at home in the role of a ready reserve. He matches up defensively with the small forwards and big guards in the league effectively.

The alarm sounded right off the gate: this was a new Kobe Bryant who took the floor in 1998-99... improved even over the teenage NBA All-Star of the year before who was beginning to draw comparisons to, well, you know who. Starting the season without a double-double in his career Kobe ran off five straight when the bell rung. And he barely slowed down finishing among the top two Lakers in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocked shots. At season's end Bryant was, at the tender age of 20, voted to the All-NBA Third Team.

Already regarded as one of the premier players in the league, Adrian set a personal high last season with a 40-point performance during the campaign. He was the runaway winner of NBA Rookie of the Year honors in 1976-77 while playing at Buffalo. He averaged 20.3 points, becoming the first rookie since 1971-72 to average better than 20 points in a season.

Back to the Front! Lakers card back du jour...

Cedric Ceballos
Cedric Ceballos and the Los Angeles Lakers had their fans honking car horns out on Manchester Avenue by the Great Western Forum once again. In 1994-95, the team experienced a resurgence that is sure to keep them contending for an NBA Championship for the next several years. The acquisition of Ceballos proved to be one of the biggest reasons for the team's 15-game turnaround from 1993-94. Named as a reserve to the Western Conference squad for the 1995 NBA All-Star Game, Ceballos became only the seventh player in Lakers history to score 50 points in a single game (50, vs. Minn. on Dec. 20, 1994).
