Nicknamed "The Worm" ... Led the NBA in field goal percentage (59.5%) ... First-team selection to the NBA all-defensive team... 11th best in the NBA in rebounding... Did not play high-school basketball, but was a three-time NAIA all-American.
Smooth as silk, yet as explosive as a drag racer, Hill combines quickness, vision, touch and elevation to make defenses quiver. He commands respect, driving, working the halfcourt offense and shooting from outside.
A tireless worker and the Pistons' rebounding leader in 1989-90. "Worm" is a defensive demon and one of the best offensive rebounders in the game - a big part of why the Pistons held opponents to the fewest points scored in the NBA in 1989-90. One of the few players in the league who pulls down more rebounds than he throws in points, he has a basketball-playing sister, Debra, who was made all-America at Louisiana Tech.
