With a 5.6 yard average gain per rush, he was the Giants' most effective ball carrier. Fills movie roles in off-season and also a TV commentator and home builder. Married, two sons.

Gene got a chance last season to do more than run back punts and kickoffs - a job he did very well in '57 - but he also proved to be a potent offensive threat. Gene piled up good yardage in his sorties into the line.
