Canadiens Card of the Day

Bernie Geoffrion
Boom Boom is one of the top marksmen in the NHL, his blazing shot making him the third highest scorer in the league last season although he played only 54 games. One of the hardest shooters in NHL history, his shots have been timed up to 120 mph! Is in business for himself during the summer, and relaxes by blasting a golf ball around instead of a puck.

Name that player!

Started N.H.L. career with Brooklyn Americans in '41. He came to Canadiens in '44, where he stayed, except for 1 season with Buffalo.

Ted played 6 years in the W.H.L. and A.H.L. before getting his chance in the "Big League". A hard hitting defenceman, Ted is a former winner of the Eddie Shore Trophy for best defenceman in the American Hockey League.

Guy Talbot second year in the NHL was not quite as fruitful as had been hoped, yet he did not fall completely under the spell of the second year jinx. The going was more difficult for him, but by season's end, he began to shake himself loose and performed admirably in the playoffs.

Back to the Front! Canadiens card back du jour...

Jean Guy Talbot
Starting his 12th year with Canadiens, Jean Guy was possibly overshadowed on defence by the great Doug Harvey, but since Doug left Jean Guy has proven he is a star in his own right. An effective penalty killer, Jean Guy is often used as a forward to "beef up" the offense.
