Lightning Card of the Day

Petr Klima
After leading the Oilers in goals last season, Petr caught a trade wind to the Warmer clime of Tampa Bay. Our most pressing need for the (93-94) season was to add speed and goal-scoring ability to our offense," said Lightning President and GM Phil Esposito. "In Petr Klima, we addressed both needs. He has scored 30 (or more) goals in six of his eight NHL seasons."

Name that player!

The NHL's Vezina Trophy winner for 2018-19 seized Tampa Bay's career shutout record (18) with his 20-save, 3-0 win over visiting Montreal on Feb. 16. 2019.

Trying to contain this little speedster is like trying to catch lightning in a bottle. On January 30, 2003, Martin recorded a hat trick versus Carolina - then packed his bags for the NHL All-Star Game. St. Louis proved his toughness in the first round of the playoffs versus Washington. Forced to leave Game 1 after taking a puck to the face, he notched six points over the next three games.

Daren is two for two in the MVP category, having earned the honor in each of his two seasons with the Lightning. "He's the guy," said Tampa Bay President and GM Phil Esposito. "Without him, the playoffs aren't really a possibility. With him, they can become a reality."

Roman Hamrlik
After being rated the top prospect coming into the '92 NHL Entry Draft, it was no surprise Roman Hamrlik was selected first overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Hamrlik played for ZPS Zlin of the Czechoslovakian Tampa Bay Premier Division for two seasons. He began the '92-93 NHL season with Tampa Bay at the age of 18.
