One of baseball's most menacing foursome, these Pirate bombers drove in 274 runs last season. Smoky Burgess, the veteran National League catcher, led the Pittsburgh club in batting with a .328 mark in 1962. Dick Stuart, who once hit 66 home runs in a single season in the minor leagues, was traded by the Bucs last winter. The fans in Forbes Field will miss his explosive power this summer. 1961's National League Batting Champ, Bob Clemente, holds a record for hitting 3 triples in one game. Last year was the third consecutive season that Bob batted over .300. Now in his ninth season in the Pirate's outfield, Bob Skinner was one of three Pittsburgh regulars to bat over .300. The outfielder hit a torrid .472 in his first season in the Pirate farm chain in 1951.
