Askins missed the first month of the 1990-91 season after he suffered a stress fracture in his left heel during a preseason game. He scored a career-high ten points on April 3, 1991 against Golden State and made one start for the Heat, grabbing three rebounds in eight minutes. He was selected to the 1989 All-SEC Tournament Team after he scored a career-high 23 points in the tournament championship game.
Dick is a fine all around athlete. In the spring and summer, he pitches for the Rochester Red Wings and last year posted a good 12-9 mark. On the court he is a sensational defensive operator and scores with classy set shots. In college, Dick had over 17 points per game.
