Name that player!

It's rare that a list detailing the NFL's hardest hitter or its most-feared tackler fails to feature Lott's name. The 10-time Pro Bowl selection developed a formidable reputation during his career and helped the 49ers claim four Super Bowl titles during his 10-year stay in San Francisco.

John played backfield and center in the Big 9 and centinued that division of duties during his first campaign with the New York club. Starting as a blocking back, Cannady shifted to center when trouble developed at that position where the Giants' Mel Hein became football's all-time No. 1 center in an unbroken 15-year span. Rough, durable, a savage line backer, John quickly made good in the very important pivot spot.

John came to N.Y. from the Rams before the '63 training season. L.A.'s top defensive lineman for four seasons, he personally blocked 5 rival kicks.
