Countless injuries during his years of "up-and-at-'em" service make him NHL's most battle-scarred veteran. More than once pronounced "finis" by the medics, last season's comeback placed him in center slot of "All-Stars", and 3rd in NHL scoring race. He has set a new NHL record for points - 557 in 12 seasons, shattering Bill Cowleys' old record of 548 points in 13.

"Baldy" isn't a fast skater, but he passes the puck very well and has a good shot. Outstanding defensively, he is the kind of winger who can hit and hurt. He had a good season with Canadiens last year, but aggravation of a knee injury sidelined him for most of the playoffs. Baldy has to watch his weight during the off-season so he does construction work to keep in shape.
