With Ron Perranoski traded to the Twins, Jim is now the only southpaw in the Dodgers' bullpen. He started eleven ballgames last year but also appeared in 19 contests in relief.
The "Royal Scot Express" hit the memorable home run that brought the Pennant to the Giants over the Dodgers in '51. Bobby broke in with Rocky Mount of the Bi-State League in '42, and spent 3 years in Service. He was brought up to the Giants at the end of the '46 season after hitting .280 in 151 games for Jersey City. Bobby came up as a 3rd Baseman, switched to the outfield and is now back at Third. In '51, he was 4th in the NL in Slugging (.562) and in Homers.
During 1950 Roy took part in 154 games. Hit .230. Had 21 doubles, 9 triples, 21 homers. Batted in 85 runs. Began in organized baseball with Los Angeles in 1944. Spent the next season in the service. Rejoined LA for 9 games in 1946. Divided rest of season between Shelby, Tri-State League and Davenport, Three-I League. With Des Moines, 1947. Roy's rookie year in the majors was 1948.
