An exciting guard who makes things happen on the court, Anthony Peeler used his slashing moves and his sweet left-handed shot to win the Big Eight Conference Player of the Year Award in 1991-92. Peeler averaged 23.4 points per game as a senior, and he left Missouri as the school's all-time leader in assists (497) and steals (196). Dangerous on the fast break, he is an outside threat, too, as his career three-point percentage (.393) indicates. The Lakers snapped him up with the 15th overall pick of the 1992 NBA Draft. Peeler should play a major role in the Lakers' return to the up-tempo style of play that brought them five NBA Championships in the 1980s.
Larry lives in a suburb of Syracuse but it took three years before he could play pro ball in his own "back yard." While on the Warriors, he demonstrated a fine, accurate set shot and was one of the top outside men. Larry can also pour on the speed to bottle up enemy attacks.
The MAAC and Philadelphia Big-5 Player of the Year, Woods is a prime-time gunner who averaged a MAAC-leading 27.3 PPG as a senior to go with 6.3 rebounds and 5.2 assists per outing, He also led the conference in steals (2.4 SPG) while finishing second in assists and fourth in free-throw percentage (.813). With good range, toughness and quick hands, the Clippers foresee Woods as an NBA caliber point guard.
